Area Law Enforcement
Around 50 automobiles have been covered with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to police.
Vehicles, building surfaces and mailboxes were vandalized, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they stated in a release.
Law enforcement say they were alerted late on Wednesday, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued fluid.
The substance had been drawn in the form of a swastika, they reported.
Police then located numerous other vandalized automobiles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
These symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation banning the public display of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement report initial examinations indicate the substance was likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no lead as to where it came from; officials are not yet aware of any physical harm in relation with the event," they added.
City officials said they were working "to solve the incident" and have asked to the public for information.
A senior political figure stated the incident rendered him stunned and required to be solved rapidly.
"This event strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the extremist violent incident half a decade ago," he stated on online, referring to the death of nine individuals by a shooter targeting people of immigrant origin in five years prior.
